Family, Christian Education and Community

We believe that the family is the fundamental governmental, social, and spiritual unit created by God. In this, the individual learns self-government, social relationships, and develops a relationship with God the Creator and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, according to John 3:5 and 16, Ephesians 6:1 and Colossians 3:20. The family also provides protection and the ultimate authority from over-extensive government and over-stimulating social involvements.

Family

  • We understand "family" to mean a male and female parent, legally married, with one or more children (Genesis 1:26-28) and we recognize single parent, adopted, foster, and step children (James 1:27).

  • We reject LGBTQ+ indoctrinations, homosexual marriages or homosexual orientation in all its’ forms because it is contrary to Scripture and the intentions of God in creation (Romans 1:18-32), and we believe that such relationships distorts God’s divine order, destructive to children and the very idea of family. Further, we reject transitory, co-habitual relationships (living together as husband/wife without being married) as being equally in violation of God's laws and incapable of providing the long-term nurture and instruction needed by children and commanded by God (Proverbs 1:8-9, 2:1-11; Colossians 3:21; and Ephesians 6:4). Because God has ordained marriage and defined it as the covenant relationship between a man, a woman, and Himself. EPIC café as a ministry outreach of Our Report Ministries & Publications will only recognize marriages between a biological man and a biological woman.

  • We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Gen 1:26-27.) Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

  • We believe that the term “marriage” has only ONE meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Gen 2:18-25.)

  • We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4.)

  • We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

  • We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, pedophilia, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God and should NOT be exposed to children. (Matt 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Romans 1:17-32.)

  • We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of EPIC Cafe as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the communities we serve, it is imperative that all persons employed and/or volunteering in any capacity, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. (Matt 5:16; Phil 2:14-16; 1 Thess 5:22.)

  • We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who repent, confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ and being born again by the Spirit. (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 8:1:1; 1 Cor 6:9-11.)

  • We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31.) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the integrity of EPIC Café and Our Report Ministries & Publications.

EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN

  • We believe that the ultimate responsibility for the education of children belongs to parents (Deuteronomy 4:9, 6:1-25, and 4:1-4). Thus, we believe this is an inalienable right given by God, which the State cannot create, destroy, or alter. Parents may allow another to teach some of the cognitive information that children need to know, but all education must be under the ultimate control and supervision of the parents.

  • We believe education in the home to be the best form of education, but we recognize that many parents cannot educate at home for valid reasons and support the right of parents to send their children to private Christian schools.

  • We further recognize that because of economic or other reasons, a parent or guardian may have no other alternative but to place a child in a public or private school. Although this is acceptable in society, we do not, however, support or condone public schools because of their ostensible, humanistic basis for teaching all subjects.

  • We believe that the religions of secular humanism and Christianity are utterly different, toxic, anti-Christ, anti-parent and unpatriotic.

  • We believe that all education is religious in nature, since one's view of the world and life is inevitably involved in teaching (Proverbs 2:1-8, 3:1-2, with 6:20-23; and Matthew 28:18-20). Every discipline of knowledge, whether it be a subject such as mathematics, science, or history, will have as its final reference point a theistic or, in the alternative, a humanistic view of reality (Colossians 1:15-20 and 2:8-15), and that there is no neutral academic discipline.

EDUCATION FOR COMMUNITY

  • We believe that educating our community starts in the home first, and then it spreads within infrastructure of the communities we live in and serve. "But if any provide not for his own and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse then an infidel.” -1 Timothy 5:8.

  • We believe that the efficacy for just judgment starts by arming people with unbiased truth. Except people are informed about the problematic public policies (weapons that are formed against them), there is no way to mobilize them to make a difference. “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord. -Isaiah 54:17

  • We believe that our community must be informed about the strategic take over of the divine family order by collectivist movements, like BLM and Marxist purveyors and ungodly ideologies such as racism, in all its’ forms including, socioeconomic disenfranchisement. “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” – Colossians 2:3

  • We believe it is our duty to evangelize our community to take-back personal responsibility over their lives, their children’s life and every facets of their well being. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2

  • We believe that conservative values and limited government are tools for empowerment and advocacy that enable people to overcome all barriers and contribute to giving people real hope to better understand real justice and how to change their lives and community. “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” -1 Peter 5:10

  • We believe we must encourage our community to pray for and hold elected officials accountable to the public policies that are strategic designed to destroy the freedoms etched within the framework of the Constitution and the expressed sovereignty given by God to establish our family according to His Word; and the erosion of our moral standards and faith in Jesus Christ. “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you…” -1 Thessalonians 3:1

  • We believe that electing federal and local representatives that share our values is one of the most powerful ways to advocate for change and have a profound impact in the districts they serve and the community we live in. “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?...and He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct…” –Amos 3:3 and Peter 1:15
